1. Getting no audio or video via HDMI:

Possible cause(s):
  • HDMI cable is not connected properly between the DVD player and the TV.
  • Incorrect input from TV is selected. Select the right HDMI input for TV input setting.
  • Video and audio formats may not be supported by the TV. Select the video and audio formats that are supported by the TV (See product manual for video and audio formats supported by the TV).
  • Check the DVD player- it may not be reading the information from the TV. Disconnect the HDMI cable and connect it again.
  • HDCP between the DVD player and the TV may not be compatible. Connect a HDCP-compatible DVD player or a HDCP-compatible TV.
  • The HDMI cable is too long between DVD and A/V receiver to TV. Use a HDMI cable shorter than 5 m (15 ft).

2. Getting video from TV but no audio or bad audio:

Possible cause(s):
  • The current audio output format may not be supported by the TV. Select the audio format that supported by the TV (most of today’s TVs only support PCM while most of DVD players can support PCM and Dolby Digital and DTS).
  • The DVD player may fail to read the information from the TV. Disconnect the HDMI cable and connect it again.
  • If a A/V reciever is being used between DVD player and TV, check the configuration on the A/V reciever and make sure the output audio to TV mode is selected.

3. Getting audio but no video:

Possible cause(s):
  • Check your a/v receiver menu setup. It’s possible that someone has changed the HDMI video setup by accident
  • Your current output (DVD player) may have a video resolution that your TV does not support. If this is the case, then from your DVD player, select the video resolution that is supported by your TV (see product manual to find out more information about video resolutions supported by the TV).
  • The HDMI cable is too long between DVD and AV to TV Use a HDMI cable shorter than 5 m (15 ft).

4. Video and audio are intermittently in and out:

Possible cause(s):
  • The HDMI cable is too long between DVD and AV to TV. Use a HDMI cable shorter than 5 m (15 ft).

5. Getting back ground sound but no audio in conversation:

Possible cause(s):
  • Your current DVD audio may be configured to Multi channels. If this is the case, then from your DVD player, change the audio to 2 channels (Most of today’s TVs support only 2 channels).

6. My video output resolution will not stay the same (changes to different video resolution) after I turn the TV or DVD player OFF and then back ON:

  • On some DVD players, turning the DVD player OFF and then ON or turning the TV OFF and then ON will cause the video resolution going back to the TV’s preferred or Native video resolution
